A technology platform for on-demand delivery that became one of Spain's first unicorns. It was acquired by Delivery Hero in 2022. A2B invested alongside major international venture capital firms in its first funding round.
Glovo is an on-demand delivery technology platform founded in Barcelona in 2014 by Óscar Pierre and Sacha Michaud, with operations launched in 2015. Glovo connects users with independent couriers through its mobile application to deliver food, store products, groceries, pharmacy items, and any other locally available item, quickly and flexibly. The company has been one of the most impactful and internationally visible Spanish startups in the on-demand economy sector, operating in more than 23 countries and hundreds of cities worldwide.
A2B Investments participated in the first investment round alongside some of the leading European venture capital funds, supporting the initial growth of the business model and its international expansion. Later, Glovo established itself as one of the most promising Spanish technology companies: in 2019 it reached unicorn valuation and subsequently, in 2022, was majority-acquired by the global group Delivery Hero.
